Hammonton already has excellent infrastructure: effective transportation, vibrant culture and community, and strong neighborhoods. One important purpose of the code update is to support Hammonton's future success by creating a new code for Downtown that respects what’s already here while enabling modern commerce to fit happily in Downtown. The process is driven by "envisioning workshops" in which residents share ideas on what an even better Downtown might offer.The new Downtown code provides a good foundation for future planning that is focused on the scale and character of Downtown buildings, blocks, and streets as well as other qualities that make Hammonton special to its residents—and what makes it different from other towns.
